3D Plaster of Paris 'Prints'
3D Plaster of Paris 'Prints'

Quite a while back I was introduced to printing with plaster of paris by printmaking friend Emily Harvey and really enjoyed having a go at creating 2D & 3D forms.
The process involves creating a waterproof plate, inking it with oil based inks, setting the plate into a suitable mould which is then filled with liquid plaster of paris.
As the plaster of paris dries & hardens it draws the ink off the plate and a the image is transferred onto the surface of the form created.
I am working on a series of columns inspired by the carvings & other decorations found in the village church.
My first 2D plaster of paris prints can be seen in the Other work gallery
