Crucible I
Crucible I

I love beach combing and find it hard to resist bring a few special pebbles home from each trip to the coast.
This collagraph was inspired by the shapes of slate pebbles found on Sandsend beach.
They are known as Hag stones, often referred to as an Adder Stones.
Each is unique and characterized by a naturally formed hole piercing straight through it.
These stones have been shrouded in mystique for centuries, with many cultures attributing magical qualities to them.
It’s said that possessing a Hag Stone could grant one the power to cure venomous snake bites or to peer through the veil of enchantment,
revealing the true form of witches or fairies when gazed upon through the stone’s aperture.
The pebble shapes used for this collagraph were created from very thin etched aluminium
